Owing to the rapid development of the past twenty years, the Pearl River Delta has become a world-renowned base for the manufacturing industry and transnational purchase center. Accompanied by the cooperation between the Pearl River Delta and its east and west mountain regions in promoting the transfer of industrial patterns, the Pearl River Delta and its less-developed surrounding areas gain a sound development of a win-win mode. The economy in Guangdong which is under rapid progress has obtained a larger space for further development.

Under the situation of economic globalization and during the development of market economy, Guangdong province will emphasize on the cooperation and exchange in the Pearl River Delta area, the Pan Pearl River Delta area and further the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area so as to enlarge the market and complement each other with resource advantages to turn the regional cooperation into a driving force for economic prosperity and to benefit all parties participating in the cooperation.
