The Chinese government decided, in the Beijing Declaration, issued during the ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) SMEs Ministerial Meeting on October 31, 2007, ¡°to provide, during the annual ¡®China International Small and Medium Enterprises Fair¡¯ in each September, a free ¡®Hall for ASEM SMEs Cooperation and Exchange¡¯ for members to hold exhibitions and conduct exchanges...¡±

The Hall for ASEM SMEs Cooperation and Exchange started to be set up starting from CISMEF 2008, where 10 free booths were provided to each ASEM member. It was continued at CISMEF 2009, where the number of free booths for each ASEM member was extended to 20. The ASEM member participation mechanism has become one of the distinctive features of the event, providing good opportunities for the business cooperation and cultural exchanges between Chinese SMEs and those from the world, especially those from the ASEM members. CISMEF 2010 will continue such mechanism.

The Organizing Committee will:
1)provide 20 free standard booths to each ASEM member in the Hall for ASEM SMEs Cooperation and Exchange;
2)invite trade and investment promotion agencies and professional service providers from various member countries to demonstrate their investment environment, trade and investment opportunities;
3)welcome member countries¡¯ enterprises which are in Chinese for investment and trade to the fair as exhibitor or visitor;
4)suggest all members organize the participation of their SMEs by industry for better business matchmaking to be arranged;
5)hold the Asia-Europe SME Cooperation and Development Seminar, to promote the sound development of SMEs from the member countries.
6)designate a zone in the exhibition hall for countries, if needed, to stage on-site promotion activities;
7)assist foreign exhibitor groups, if needed, in the business matchmaking with and business tours in China¡¯s provinces (autonomous regions or municipalities).
