Visit of the CISMEF Delegation to Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry

The delegation of five people headed by Wang Shengbo, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau of China International SME Fair, paid a visit to Osaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI) on June 21, and was received by Yasutsugu Kohzuki, Executive Director of OCCI.

Yasutsugu Kohzuki told the delegation that OCCI was established in August, 1878, and is the largest comprehensive economic organization in Japan, with its membership mainly composed of commercial and industrial businesses of Osaka. As an important port city of Japan, Osaka is also the second largest economic center in Japan, with a large pool of SMEs. One of the major annual tasks of OCCI is to support the operation of SMEs, equip them with professional managers, and advise and guide them on how to improve their business operation.

Wang Shengbo gave a brief introduction to CISMEF and a detailed introduction to preparations and progress of CISMEF 2010. Wang also said that in China, particularly in Guangdong province, there were also a large number of SMEs, which tend to concentrate in certain places. It was his hope that this visit could allow the two sides to build long-term friendly cooperation, that SMEs from Japan and China could increase exchanges and cooperation, and that the platform of CISMEF would create more business opportunities for SMEs from both sides. At the same time, he also invited OCCI to participate in activities of CISMEF 2010.
