The CISMEF delegation of five people paid a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade of South Korea on the morning of June 18, and was received by Kim Changnam, First Secretary of Overseas Korean Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & Trade and representatives from Northeast Asian Affairs Bureau.
Head of the delegation, Wang Shengbo, Deputy Director-General of the Bureau of CISMEF, explained to the South Korean side the profile of CISMEF and characteristics of the 7th CISMEF.
The South Korean side said that under strong support of the Chinese government, CISMEF had been successfully held six times, with exposition experience accumulated and reputation gained overseas; that China boasted huge consumption market and excellent trade environment, turning China into the first overseas investment destination for South Korean SMEs; and that in cities like Qingdao, which are close to South Korean, there were a large pool of South Korean businesses. The South Korean side suggested that CISMEF make full use of foreign-invested enterprises based in China to expand channel of exposition and investment promotion overseas and enhance marketing to attract more overseas enterprises to CISMEF.
